1 · Your first sound

To play a sound, you put its name inside sound("…"). bd is a bass drum (a kick).

• Press ▶ (or Ctrl+Enter). You should hear a single kick repeating once per loop. Press Ctrl+. to stop it.
• Change bd to cp (a clap) and play again. You just swapped instruments.

Drum sounds: bd kick · sd snare · hh hi-hat · oh open hat · cp clap · rim rimshot. There are pitched ones too, like piano and casio. Don't memorise — just swap the word and listen.
